The Role: Ruby on Rails Backend Engineer We are looking for an engineer to manage and improve our API performance, build new API endpoints as per customer specifications, implement solid testing, and develop new product features while maintaining data integrity across various systems. At the end of the year, you will have: Shipped code that has been used by industry peers. Mastered a host of open-source technologies. Gained deep insight into how startups operate. Networked with some of the top investors and subject matter experts in the country. Seen your friends and family using the technology you create. Built long-lasting relationships with your coworkers. Skills We Are Looking For: A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with 1-3 years of experience. Strong knowledge of algorithms and data structures. A research-oriented mindset with the ability to grasp new concepts and languages quickly. A team player who is driven by passion for learning and making a difference. Technical Requirements: Extensive experience with Ruby on Rails. Proficiency in data structures, databases, and algorithms. Strong experience in Unix/Linux administration. Solid understanding of web applications, distributed systems, and network systems. Strong analytical and communication skills. Bonus Points For: Experience with Sidekiq, Redis, and RabbitMQ. Experience with frontend technologies like React.js, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Exposure to machine learning frameworks such as NLTK, SciKit, NumPy, or TensorFlow. Knowledge of mobile application development for Android and iOS. Understanding of music theory. At least one idea for a perpetual motion machine. Proficiency in foosball, cricket, badminton, ultimate frisbee, or any other indoor games.
